Hey.

I'm Mary. It's nice to meet you. This blog is a tiny space on the internet to document my musings on style, travel and culture. Enjoy!

OUTFIT POST: Slightly Sheer

I love this pretty, girly dress, gifted to me by High Plains Thrifter. It's so swishy and feminine and the tiniest bit sheer, perfect for spring. I wore it last weekend to that Fleetwood Mac tribute show I attended at the Turf Club.

Speaking of weekends, how was yours? I had a lovely Friday, checking out a new happy hour and sipping cocktails with friends at my new favorite hangout. Saturday was similarly awesome — I slept in, did a little shopping and judged the Drinkin' Spelling Bee at the 331 Club. Today involved more sleeping in, some hot yoga, my mother's birthday celebration and an impromptu double-date to see "Cedar Rapids" (review = awesome) and late-night happy hour at Cafeteria (also awesome).

Whew! I could really use a weekend after all that weekend. The next seven days is going to be even busier. I'm hopping on a plane for Phoenix on Tuesday for a fashion shoot in the middle of the freaking desert. Like, really truly, the desert. Sand and sun for miles. Here's hoping all the sunscreen I'm bringing makes it through airport security.

This Saturday, I'm co-hosting MNfashion's Spring Style Dash at the Mall of America from 12-2pm. Three stylists will compete to give head-to-toe makeovers to three pre-selected participants using clothes they've "dashed" across the mall to acquire. They'll each present one casual, one work-appropriate and one evening look demonstrating the season's new trends. The winning makeover subject gets a couture dress by a local designer and VIP tickets to MNfashion Week shows in April. The Mall of America's resident trend expert, Sara Rogers, and I will be on-hand to discuss spring trends and help judge the stylists' work. It'll be super fun — I hope to see you there!
