OUTFIT POST: Suddenly spring

Forty degree means spring when you're used to single-digit temperatures. It can only get better from here, right? (let's pretend it didn't snow last week)

How was your weekend? Mine was pretty good — in a quiet way, which was a nice change of pace after my trip to the sand dunes last week. I spent Friday night hanging out with friends, then woke up Saturday just in time to co-host Style Dash, a MNFashion-produced makeover/styling competition and fashion show at the Mall of America. It was really fun.

I wore the skirt pictured above during Style Dash, but styled with a chambray blouse and some heavy jewelry. I think I like the outfit above better.

You should've seen my face when I found this shirt at a thrift store for $4.99; I literally gasped. It was too big in the waist, so I took it to Sew Simple (located inside Blacklist Vintage in Minneapolis) and got it taken in for $12. That technically makes it a $16.99 skirt, but I'm not complaining. You'll see me in it a lot this spring.
