Just a quick outfit post from Friday night. I hit up the Walker Art Center for its After Hours Preview Party of "The Spectacular of Vernacular" in a borrowed vintage dress from High Plains Thrifter. The party invite suggested "cabin fever" attire — thick sweaters, flannels, fur — but I've never been one to follow a dress code. (You've seen my post on Halloween, right?)
Nevertheless, it was a spectacularly fun night. My good pal, Georgia, and I got dinner and drinks at 20.21, then bounced around the party, making a brief appearance in the photo booth.
Yowza! This dress sure is colorful, huh? I love an accentuated shoulder — makes everything else look smaller. So annoying that the museum forced me to wear an ugly blue plastic bracelet. I swear, event planners need to reconsider such "accessories." A simple stamp on the hand would be better for the environment and far less outfit-intrusive.
Here are a couple alternate views from before the party:
Did I mention this dress is for sale? It's only $24! Contact Meg at High Plains Thrifter if you're interested. I'd guess it's around a size 4/6.
