Trend Alert: Mullet Jeans

Chalk this one up with Trends I Won't Participate In. I honestly don't know where this particular trend came from. They typically have an obvious beginning, like athleisure coming from the new-age health movement and everything a 20-year-old girl wears coming from 1994.

But mullet jeans? Didn't see that one coming. The raw-hem trend has been going strong for a couple years now, and I guess this was a natural progression. Who knew it'd be such a THING though. 

I bet some Instagram influencer messed up her D.I.Y. hem job and decided to just wear it shorter in front and longer in the back, kicking off a new denim trend worldwide. And now she's probably a bazillionaire.

All in all, this trend messes with my need for clean lines and tidiness. Sporting a raw hem is plenty messy for me, but adding another layer of unevenness? Ack! No thank you.
