Hey.

I'm Mary. It's nice to meet you. This blog is a tiny space on the internet to document my musings on style, travel and culture. Enjoy!

BEHIND-THE-SCENES: Bridal fashion shoot

This is the story that was supposed to take place in a dilapidated barn on a farm in Wisconsin, but Mother Nature had other plans for us. Our early-morning meeting spot — photographer William Clark's studio — ended up being the location for Plan B.

I think everyone was nervous at first: Would our high-fashion, big-hair barn concept work inside, on a plain white backdrop? But by the time we'd finished the first shot, it was clear this story had morphed into its own cool idea.

Our model, Kelly from Ignite, was fantastic; she carried the entire shoot. Kelly's spent quite a bit of time working in Asia recently and it shows. She understands edgy posing and knows that the slightest shift can make all the difference. And she's got that perfect doll face I mentioned a couple posts ago.

Kudos to the entire crew for turning our rain-day into such a chic editorial: William, Holly Mae and AJ from HMStyling, hair/makeup artist Andrea Holton, and my art director Janet.
