I picked up Zara's wool wrap-around-collar coat the other day. It's so warm that I thought about returning it until Seattle's weather took a turn for the arctic. It's freaking COLD here right now. But, of course, it's nothing compares to the deep freeze I'm about to feel in Minneapolis over the holidays. Not excited for that part.
I've been meaning to do a post on 30-something model Jamie Bochert and her striking, androgynous beauty ... and then I found out that she's married to Boardwalk Empire actor Michael Pitt and my head pretty much exploded.
Talk about a cool couple. I did some digging and learned that they met roughly 10 years ago in an East Village bar where Jamie was working. She had temporarily retired from modeling and was on her first day as a bartender when Michael walked in. They've been inseparable ever since.
Currently living in Brooklyn, Jamie and Michael are both musicians in addition to their primary jobs. She plays piano and sings under the name Frances Wolf and occasionally opens for Michael's band, Pagoda. He's a reformed bad boy, a high school dropout, whose breakout role was on Dawson's Creek. Jamie likes to cook and has been quoted numerous times professing her love for cats.
Lets take a moment to ponder the dreamy, romantic lifestyle of this under-the-radar celebrity couple. I'm imagining lots of stubbed-out cigarettes; piles of books and magazines; winding, overgrown plants; and loose-fitting clothing that either might wear.
Oh, to be a fly on the wall ...
My style is weird these days. One minute I'm in a dainty silk blouse and pencil skirt, and the next I'm in baggy ripped jeans and a long wool coat. Or some mixture of the two.
This entire outfit is vintage, which made shredding my jeans a little less stressful. I can rest assured knowing there are a million more pairs of oversized, light-wash jeans where this came from. Some of them are in my closet.
