The Perfect Black Leather Tote

The search is over. I finally found a commuter bag that meets all of my qualifications: structured black leather; raw edge; flat bottom; longish straps; large enough for my wallet, planner, makeup, heels, scarf, lunch and whatever I happen to buy on my walk to and from work. I was so sick of carrying two bags — my smaller crossbody satchel and a canvas tote. It's been two days now, and I can already tell this puppy is gonna be a staple in my day-to-day life.

This particular style is the 'Dylan' tote by Rebecca Minkoff — it's on sale at Shopbop right now for $206 (I got mine at Nordstrom) and also comes in white, hot pink, bright blue and sunshine yellow (via Zappos).

Fleetwood Mac, Tacoma Dome, May 20, 2013

Words can't even begin to describe how amazing Fleetwood Mac's show at the Tacoma Dome was on Monday night. I was crying by the second song. They've long been one of my favorite bands, and seeing them live — from the sixteenth row, no less — was truly a dream come true. I wish I could live it over and over again.

OUTFIT POST: Back to Basics

Slouchy t-shirts, breezy skirts, simple-as-can-be heels — basics are all I feel like wearing lately! I did a big purge of my closet last week, taking out all the old crazy vintage pieces I no longer wear. For some reason — maybe I'm getting older? — I'm feeling drawn to a minimal, classic aesthetic. Nothing too busy, nothing too complicated.

Here's all I feel I need:

- a collection of perfectly draped t-shirts
- a few pairs of great jeans: skinny, boyfriend and wide-leg, in a few different washes
- sleek, button-up blouses, preferably silk
- the perfect tailored black blazer
- the perfect pointy-toe black heels
- classic black ballet flats
- vintage pencil skirts
- the perfect pair of tailored black trousers (still on the hunt for these)
- delicate, minimal jewelry
- ultra simple sandals, like the ones in this post
- a collection of cashmere sweaters and cardigans, crewneck & v-neck, in neutral hues

Am I just really boring right now or something? I can't stop craving this stuff! I wonder if I overdid it with years of wild 'n' crazy vintage, and now it's time for a palette cleanser.

Anyone else yearning for a back-to-basics wardrobe??
