When I heard that we were having a Celiné sample sale at work, my heart skipped a beat and my hands started to sweat. This was my chance! Finally, I could own something by one of my favorite designers at a price I could afford.
The sale started at 9 AM the next morning, so I got up early and arrived outside the sample room at 8 AM, anticipating a huge line. I was the fourth person there. Others didn't start to file in until around 8:45, and we were all let inside at once, so I probably didn't need to get there so early after all. But at the time, I couldn't risk it!
The sale consisted of mostly clothing with a smattering of shoes and accessories (handbags were sadly absent). I tried on a blue and white oxford-cloth button-down, some tailored black trousers, an orange silk blouse and this dress, which ended up being the only thing that fit properly. I love its minimal aesthetic and the asymmetrical draping. It has pockets too! And the quality is, of course, out of this world.
This is definitely an investment piece that I'll have my whole life and break out for special occasions. It's a bit too statementy for your average Seattle party, but I'm sure I'll find some event that fits the bill. In the meantime, it's a lovely addition to my growing collection of luxury treasures.
