Well, this one's a no-brainer, considering I've had a girl crush on Florence Welch for some time. She's wearing the hell out of some Alexander McQueen (click here and scroll to image #9 to see this dress on the F/W 2012 runway). I can't think of a better look for Florence at the Met Gala. Bravo.
Beyonce in Givenchy comes in a close second. This woman had a baby like four months ago, you guys. She's not even human. I freaking love the violet feather train on this gown. It makes the dress — even more than Beyonce's bodaciousness.
I know, I know. Call me a weirdo, but I think MK Olsen is one of the best young fashion designers out there (along with her sis Ashley). She has such an interesting eye for shape and proportion and fabric. I think she looks lovely here — in a gown she designed — despite it not being typical attire for a 25-year-old. But hey, like we established with Beyonce, celebrities are only partially human.
You can't go wrong in Alexander McQueen—a fact Cate Blanchett long ago realized. She looks amazing in this sleek trumpet-skirted affair. I'm only slightly disappointed that she didn't pair it with the enormous tiered cape with which it appeared on the runway.
This Stella McCartney sheath is pretty standard fare for Cameron Diaz, but nevertheless, she pulls it off with aplomb. How much unicorn blood do I need to drink to get a body like that when I'm 39?
Kate Bosworth, vampin' it up in feathery Prada with matching plums lips and handbag. She looks incredibly polished, from the ice-hot bling on her ears and wrist to the death-grip bun atop her head. Bonus points for maintaining a healthy glow despite clearly never eating.
You don't always think "amazing, slinky ballgown" when you hear the words "Ralph Lauren," but the iconic American brand really turned it out for screen siren Camilla Bell. This dress could not fit her more perfectly. The plunge hits at just the right spot—as does her hemline. Great hair and makeup too. Bravo.
If anybody can pull off a skin-tight floor-length crocodile-skin dress, it's Rhianna. And she knows it. Not feelin' the hair, but otherwise, she looks blammin'.
Yes, every red-carpet dress Marchesa has done in the past five years has looked a little something like this. But they do it really well, and it looks chic on certain celebrities — Sophia Vergara included. She kind of looks like a trophy here, which I guess makes sense, considering she plays a trophy wife on Modern Family.
What do you think? Did I miss any favorites?
