I've been searching for the perfect pair of pleated dress pants for, oh, two years now. I was mostly trying to thrift them and did successfully find a couple pairs, but they weren't perfect. One had an elastic waistband that looked kind of geriatric, and the other was just plain too tight. This pair from American Apparel hits the nail on the head. It sits just above my hips, has the right amount of pleats, and tapers gently at the ankles with enough room for cuffing.
I paired the pants with a new whisper-thin blouse from Urban Outfitters, vintage tie and white peep-toes from eons ago. And some geeky glasses, just for fun. Other than that, I'm accessory-free, which seems appropriate given how much I'm dressed like a dude.
