It should come as no surprise that Florence Welch, frontwoman of English rock band Florence and the Machine, is one of my style idols. We seem to be on the same wavelength — and it goes beyond having similar hair and pale complextions.
In the May 2011 issue of Venus Zine, Florence said of her style, "For the stage, it's Lady of Shalott meets Ophelia…mixed with scary gothic bat lady. But in real life I’m kind of prim."
She's not kidding. It's clear from the photos above that she channels a kind of ethereal glam rocker onstage, but when she's attending events, it's all tailored Chanel jackets and ladylike skirts.
I can get on-board with that.
