Hey.

I'm Mary. It's nice to meet you. This blog is a tiny space on the internet to document my musings on style, travel and culture. Enjoy!

My favorites from New York Fashion Week, Fall 2011, Pt. 2

Okay! Continuing from where I left off yesterday, here are the rest of my favorite looks from the shows, starting with one of my favorites:

Michael Kors - Ahhh, I am so in love with fall's menswear influence! I don't know what it is, but there's something about a beautiful woman in tailored trousers and jackets that sets my heart aflutter. Michael Kors has this look down.

But you know what he also does well? Dresses! This next one in particular is breathtaking. If I were getting married tomorrow, this dress would be a serious contender for my wedding. (I'm a non-traditioanl kinda gal.)

Karen Walker - This is how casualwear is done. So cool, simple, unfussy. I'm now inspired to trying wearing a plain t-shirt with one of my beloved long skirts.

Halston - I wasn't blown away by Sarah Jessica Parker's first fall collection, but these army green looks stood out. What a gorgeous color.

Marc by Marc Jacobs - Loud, bright prints! So refreshing! Whee!

Prabal Gurung - Bringin' the drama. These are head-turners. Daring, fierce ... all those words Tyra Banks always uses ... even a little smize thrown in for good measure.

Rachel Roy - I'm in love with this collection. It has just the right amount of punchy prints, trendiness and accessibility. Nothing is too wacky or hard to wear; it all looks comfortable and basic, but still totally hip. Easy to mix and match too. I must acquire a pair of patterend cropped pants immediately.

Rebecca Minkoff - More long skirts, fun prints and belted waists. Are you getting bored yet? Me neither!

Rodarte - And more high-waisted pants, sweaters and blouses from the Mulleavy sisters. I'm highlighting some of the trendier, tamed down looks; the rest of the collection was too home-on-the-prairie for my tastes.

The Row - I love the clean simplicity of Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's more avant garde line. The impeccable tailoring really stood out. It's like talent show for their seamstresses.

Theysken's Theory - More long skirts, menswear and grunge inspiration. I'm sorry; don't kill me. It's all just really cute stuff! I hope this is giving you a not-so subtle clue on what to wear next season.

Yigal Azrouel - I'm not even going to say anything.

Suno - And for the grand finale, here's one of my favorite collections from all of Fall/Winter 2011. These prints are out of this world amazing. Simply gorgeous. And the pattern mixing! The silhouettes! The styling! So modern, fresh and luxurious. I want it all.
